About the Project
With the Open Fuel Cell Project we provide an open source construction plan for a simple fuel cell generating electricity from hydrogen gas.

Who we are
We are a group of scientists and engineers that share a passion for hydrogen technologies and believe in open sourcing to empower people and democratize technologies.

During our 9th meeting on the way to the Open Fuel Cell
We successfully completed gold electroplating and plan to assemble a complete cell at the next meeting. Step by step towards a working fuel cell—stay tuned!
#FuelCell #EnergyTech #Innovation #GoldElectroplating #TechProgress #Teamwork #openfuelcell #openaccessToday we present to you another step of our road to the open fuel cell. In our seventh meeting we tried electroplating current collector plates with Nickel. Unfortunately some difficulties appeared, therefore we needed to postpone the electroplating to the next meeting. Stay tuned for info on that in our next posts.
Today we present our team member Roland :)
Today we continue presenting the road to the open fuel cell, telling you about our third meeting :) More info on https://openfuelcell.org/meetings/meeting-3/
During our 8th open fuel cell meeting at the NETZ we had some discussions in the seminar room and finally went to the lab for electroplating. After some trial and error, we finally got the Nickel deposition to work!
Still, accessibility remains a challenge... but progress is progress!
